Motivational Speaker

Lisa is an extreme ultrarunner who has been running Ultramarathon events for the past 13 years running over 2000km through different parts of the sahara from Morocco to the Libyan desert, from Niger to Jordan as well as countless other races in Europe, NZ and America. She has run the equivalent of over 2 and 1/2 times around the entire earth in training and races despite having broken her back in an accident at age 21 and despite fighting with asthma all her life.

In July 2008 she was the first New Zealand or Australasian woman to complete the gruelling Badwater ultramarathon a 217km non stop race through the hottest desert on earth, Death Valley in a very good time of 38hr 24 mins.

Lisa was awarded the National Maori Sportswoman of the year 2008, Taranaki Maori Sportswoman of the year 2008, The woman of Spirit award from the Soroptimists. She was presented an award from Mayor Peter Tennent for her outstanding achievements and her promotion of the New Plymouth Districts.

She was voted Sportswoman of the year by the Taranaki Daily news public vote.

She is also involved in many community projects promoting an active community and is especially interested in getting NZ kids more active and regularly speaks at schools.

She is a dynamic and motivating speaker who leaves her audience inspired to achieve their own personal dreams, to conquer their own "Death Valley" so to speak. She is proof that you dont have to be an extraordinarily gifted athlete to do extraordinary things and that whatever you put your mind to you can achieve. Her impossible is nothing and never say die attitude is infectious.

Lisa was our guest speaker at the 2008 Netball Taranaki Rep Prizegiving and she was a huge hit! Speaking to girls ranging from 13 - 18, along with a number of adults, we asked Lisa to taylor her presentation to be about committment and giving your best to your region. We were hoping she would touch a few of the girls and inspire them to bigger and better things in the world of netball. However we were not prepared for the reaction we received from nearly the whole audience!
